Brock’s Mission Open House

Tonight was just a glimpse of what it must be like in heaven surrounded by everyone you love and those who have influenced you in your life.

We had so much fun having lots of Brock’s friends (you’ll have to look on his facebook page to see them – since I don’t know all their names) and families from church.  Owen was on camera duty and I was on kitchen duty.   I’ve decided that the best way to do refreshments has got to be to have a chocolate fountain with all the fixings.  Becky and I had lots of fun walking down the aisles of Trader Joes and Fred Meyer looking for what we could put chocolate on.  Becky and Brett helped me bake this morning.  Brett loved putting items on the plates tonight and Linsday and Becky were great about getting the house ready.  Owen was a steller strawberry destemer and angel food cake cutter and all around go to guy.

The Richardson’s  – Young Men leader (their son is serving in NM)

The Ards – great neighbors (Mom’s bestest friend and running buddy – Tamie)

The Stouts – Thanksgiving and Easter Family  – They are our relatives here in WA and Brett’s best friend Jake.

The Kahngs – Brock’s best friend who is serving in Brazil’s family.  Margaret is a wonderful care giver of Brett’s – couldn’t have done the recovery this past winter without her.

The Rogers’s Family – Their son is serving in South Africa.

The Hartley Family – Young Men leader

The Spencer’s – Young Man Leader

The Gardiners – Their son is serving in the Mesa, AZ mission (same as Brock’s – hoping they can be comps some day)

Sister Hendricks – greatest example of service EVER!!!! I want to be like her when I grow up.

The Lunds – son and daughter serving in Brazil

The Caldwells – Scoutmaster and son serving in Mexico.

The Hansen’s – Amazing Home Teachers

The McCombs – great neighbors

The Milletts – Scoutmaster and all around amazing Mom

The spread and shot of the chocolate fountain – I’m serious – easiest party food EVER!

Yes I was really there

As you can tell we have been so blessed with amazing friends and a great ward.  Brock will make missionary number 10 serving  from our ward.

Sure Love Brock and are so proud of him.

Brock wants you to know that he has asked me to be posting his emails & pictures home here so starting in 9 day’s a new Monday column of Missionary Monday will start up and last for 2 years!  Reason enough to keep blogging (or for you to check back at least weekly).

Looks fabulous! Wish we could have been there. I saw quite a few yummy things on that table that I would have dipped in the chocolate fountain! We are all so proud of Brock and excited for him as he enters the MTC this week. So happy to have a missionary in the family, thanks to Brock for setting a good example for our kids. Love you all!
