Fushimi-Inari Taisha Shrine – Kyoto Japan

This is recommended to us by a friend of Owen’s and a girl waiting at a bus stop in Kyoto.  It did not disappoint.  It is a short train ride away (except if you get on an express route, not that we would know that from personal experience or anything like that – make sure you are on the Local train).

You walk up and see an orange tori arch.   This is the first of hundreds that you will see.  It is a 3 mile walk up and through woods.  There are many shrines and many many many toris of all shapes and sizes.

It was very peaceful and we loved spending time hiking during our trip.  There were lots of steps and we laughed as we remember that Owen had commented earlier that day that he should do more steps.  Request granted.

Highly recommended this as a MUST do if you are only in the Kyoto area.
